Avinash Sharma

Enrolled as an Advocate with the Bar Council of Delhi, Avinash Sharma practices law and also teaches at graduate/post graduate level at the Indian Law Institute and National Law University Delhi. After obtaining his first law degree from Indraprastha University, New Delhi, he has been involved in various academic/ professional studies in divergent field of law at the Indian Society of Intl. Law, Indian Law Institute, National Law School of India University, The Hague Academy of Intl. Law (The Netherlands), European University Institute (Italy), Xiamen Academy of Intl. Law (China), Intl. Foundation for the Law of Sea (Germany), Bologna University (Italy), Ghent University (Belgium), Erasmus University Rotterdam (The Netherlands), Central European University (Hungary), Harvard Law School (USA) and Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and Intl. Law (Germany). His doctoral study is on WTO, TRIPS and Dispute Settlement Mechanisms. His previous assignments include Researcher at the Indian Law Institute; Law Researcher to Justice S N Dhingra at the High Court of Delhi; Law Clerk-cum-Research Assistant to Justice Mukundakam Sharma at the Supreme Court of India; Associate, Dhall Law Chambers (Linklaters LLP’s best friend in Competition Law); and Expert (Law), Competition Commission of India. Recipient of various intl. scholarships, fellowships and state, national and intl. level prizes including All India Runner Up and All India Champion Trophy in two national level law quiz competitions, and winner of an Intl. Moot Court Competition, he has spoken at the National University of Singapore (Singapore), Utrecht University (The Netherlands), Intl. Institute of Social Studies (The Netherlands), University of Intl. Business & Economics (China), Erasmus University Rotterdam (The Netherlands), Athens University of Economics and Business (Greece) and other intl. fora and his work has been published in India, Switzerland, The Netherlands, United Kingdom and Canada.
